The Desk Set is a comedy by William Marchant, which later became a Tracy-Hepburn film. Set in the 1950’s, it's man versus machine as Bunny Watson, a woman with encyclopedic knowledge, heads a group of colleagues in the reference department of a television network. An efficiency expert brings chaos to the workplace as he begins to computerize the office.
With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, 9 to 5: The Musical is based on the 1980 hit movie Nine to Five. Pushed to the boiling point by their supervisor, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. They conspire to take control of their company and learn there's nothing they can't do - even in a man's world.
The Pulitzer-Prize winning musical from the authors of Guys and Dolls follows the rising career of J. Pierrepont Finch in the big business world of World Wide Wickets. The great score includes “I Believe in You”, “Happy to Keep His Dinner Warm” and “Brotherhood of Man”.
